History

Built by the now defunct Uthan-za House in 1216 as a way to deal with unruly slaves. It soon surpassed its original place as entertainment and soon became a place of honor and a way to settle disputes between houses. Such fights began in 1220, when the House of Sands challeneged the dwarven artisan house to rights to the son of a master blacksmith. The House of Sands, which was originally a mercenary force for travelers, soon began to dominate Tenabu, giving them the nick name House of Red Sands.

Ownership of Tenabu was lost by House Uthan-za to the House of Red Sands in 1334. This loss was considered the death knell for Uthan-za, which pittered out within the next year.

Arena Master

The arena master is a dwarven freeman with the Red Sands. Inol Angard has mastered the arena for 50 years. He was arena master for Uthan-za, but in exchange for his loyalty, was given freedom by the House of Red Sands. While working as a mercenary before his life in the arena, he was a enforcer for Uthan-za before an incident in the southeastern waste vein. He lost his left leg and has a distinctive cane to walk. He arranges the fights and ensures the arena is in working order.
